The Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS) seeks two skilled, knowledgeable, and highly motivated team players to serve as two Special Duty Business and Finance Officer IIIs (BFO III) within the department’s Finance and Compliance Services (FACS) Section. This opportunity would support the Housing and Community Development Division (HCDD).
The BFO III position presents a unique opportunity to an individual seeking to utilize and expand their leadership skills, provide data analysis and recommendations, and leverage partnerships to manage financial resources effectively and provide support to internal and external stakeholders. These Special Duty BFO III will support the HCD team with managing different fund sources related to Housing Finance Program (HFP). The positions will serve as the fiscal leads for contracts, monitoring, invoicing, and reporting. The incumbents will help HFP team with management of loan records, loan reports, and related loan repayment schedules. The BFO III will monitor and manage transaction-level financials (accounting entries, personnel coding, etc.) and will help with auditor queries.
The position reports directly to the Housing Capital/Community Development BFO IV. The position manages the day-to-day financial management of the funds and plays an instrumental role in developing budget to actuals reports, coordinating financials with HCD program leads, processing accounting transactions, tracking, and documenting financial decisions, and adhoc analysis as necessary.

The individual selected for this opportunity will join an innovative and progressive team that is redefining how we work as we transition to the department's hybrid environment. Employees will be provided with a County-issued laptop and must maintain a home workspace with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours.
