Consilio’s Direct Hire Division is seeking a Business Development Manager to join a leading law firm in Washington, DC. This role will focus on supporting and driving business development initiatives within the firm’s Commercial Real Estate practice.


Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the division chair and BD team to set, refine, and evaluate business development goals aligned with firm strategy.
  • Supervise, mentor, and manage assigned BD staff, fostering teamwork, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Lead and prepare responses to new business opportunities, including RFPs for designated practice groups.
  • Identify and assess opportunities for sponsorships, seminars, industry events, conferences, and advertising.
  • Collaborate with the events team to develop event strategies and support attorney engagement during events.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships and enhance cross‑selling across practice groups.
  • Serve as the primary BD contact for new lateral attorneys within designated practice groups.
  • Develop and execute strategies to promote attorneys to internal stakeholders, clients, prospects, and the broader business community.
  • Work with the creative team to develop and update marketing materials; ensure communications are tailored to target audiences.
  • Partner with the Competitive Intelligence team to evaluate client, market, and industry research supporting growth initiatives.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive business development and/or marketing experience in a professional services environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail and organizational ability.
  • Proven coaching skills and experience developing business and marketing opportunities.
  • Ability to deliver persuasive presentations and manage BD plans and sales pipelines.
  • Strong client‑service mindset with a consultative approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate, lead, influence, and motivate teams.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, efficiency, and process enhancement.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and InterAction CRM.
  • Ability to travel for firm and marketing events as needed.


Washington, DC Pay Range: $130,000 – $165,000 per year
