Bungalow is hiring a Business Development Manager (BDM) to grow properties under management across the U.S. While you will be based in San Francisco, Los Angeles, or San Diego, you will sell Bungalow’s services nationwide into other high-cost-of-living markets such as New York City, Seattle, and similar urban metros.


In this role, you’ll be responsible for generating leads, running sales conversations, and closing new property partnerships.


This is a high-impact, relationship-driven role where your performance directly drives your income and career growth.

About The Role:

Bungalow is seeking a Business Development Manager (BDM) to help expand their portfolio of co-living and residential housing communities by sourcing, engaging, and converting new property partners and referral relationships.


This is a highly impactful role where you will manage both company-generated and self-generated leads, build strategic partnerships, represent the Bungalow brand in the market, and consistently convert prospects into long-term partners.


You will receive structured training, proven systems, and ongoing support to help you succeed. The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, coachable, and performance-driven, with a strong desire to grow alongside a nationally recognized housing platform.


Key Responsibilities

Lead Engagement & Sales

  • Work inbound and outbound leads via phone, text, email, video, and in-person meetings.
  • Present Bungalow’s co-living and residential housing solutions clearly and confidently.
  • Run consultative discovery conversations and close new property partnerships.


Lead Generation & Outreach

  • Develop and execute social media outreach campaigns.
  • Attend networking events and industry meetups.
  • Perform warm and cold outreach to referral partners and property owners.
  • Conduct public presentations and relationship-based outreach.


Client & Partner Meetings

  • Host in-person, phone, or virtual consultations.
  • Identify partner needs and position Bungalow’s platform as the solution.


Relationship Building

  • Build and maintain strong referral networks across real estate, housing, and investment communities.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for Bungalow in your market.


CRM & Sales Operations

  • Use the CRM daily to log activity, track leads, manage follow-ups, and move deals through the pipeline.
  • Maintain accurate notes, stages, and reporting.


Training & Collaboration

  • Participate in ongoing sales and business development training.
  • Collaborate closely with onboarding and operations teams to ensure smooth transitions for new partners.


Marketing & Brand Presence

  • Assist with marketing content, videos, and campaigns.
  • Post consistently on company social channels.
  • Support customer loyalty and referral initiatives.


Qualifications

  • Sales Experience: Proven success in phone and in-person sales, business development, or partnership roles.
  • Coachability: Willingness to learn, implement feedback, and follow structured systems.
  • CRM Proficiency: Experience managing pipelines and follow-ups in a CRM.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility: Availability during standard business hours with occasional evenings/weekends.
  • Content Ready: Comfortable creating short video and social media content.
  • Professional Presence: Polished, client-facing demeanor.
  • Education: Some college preferred or equivalent sales experience.
  • Transportation: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Salary: $100,000

Commission: Bonus per new client added – uncapped commission.


Total on Target Compensation:

Average Performers: $135K to $145K annually

Top Performers: $145K to $200K +


This is a full-time hybrid position. The candidate must reside in the San Francisco, Los Angeles, or San Diego area. Regular in-person meetings with local prospects, referral partners, and attendance to real estate networking events are expected. Availability during standard business hours with occasional after-hours or weekend flexibility is required.
