Summary: Our client, a personal injury law firm with 3 attorneys seeks a bookkeeper to handle all financial matters for the firm.
This position will have the benefit of support by a third-party CPA and will handle daily bookkeeping functions. Handle all Non-Legal Aspects of Law office; including Bookkeeping for Trust Account. Bookkeeping for multiple Operating Accounts. Bookkeeping for multiple lines of credit. Banking Deposits Review and understanding of client costs. Client monthly living expense/advance payments. Client cost payment & entry. Client Settlement Disbursement preparation and completion. Office expense payment. Vendor communication and payment. Payroll Bank reconciliation. Quickbooks reporting and setup. Communication with legal case management company. Communication with banking institutions and providers of lines of credit and sureties. Financial document preparation and reporting. Quarterly tax returns.Document preparation and Communication with CPA for tax planning. Quickbooks banking and credit card feed. Credit Card Reconciliation. All firm/employer /personal tax document preparation. Tax preparation with oversight of CPA; including, quarterly, payroll and annual taxes. File Expense coding.Financial Reporting.
Expect: Casual Dress Hours: 9 hours daily. Start and stop times may be adjusted for commuters. Up to 30 days of paid leave/personal time. Paid holidays. Annual Bonuses.
Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree required. Minimum 5 years at single company. Plaintiff legal bookkeeping experience minimum 5 years. Knowledge of client management systems [Smart Advocate] [Lead Docket].Quickbooks experience mandatory. Ability to split time between Houston and San Juan, Puerto Rico offices. Case Management system experience/familiarity. Ability to work without supervision. Ability to work without significant instruction. Current working knowledge of updates and upgrades to legal accounting world.
