POSITION SUMMARY

  • Vertiv is seeking a seasoned professional to join our Sales Operations team, as a Bid Specialist. The Bid Specialist facilitates Vertiv’s ability to respond to North America and some international bids/requests. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Bid Desk, this position is central to Vertiv’s ability to pursue complex sales opportunities by coordinating and delivering compliant, high-quality bid responses that support our growth objectives. Operating with minimal guidance while leveraging strong communication skills to coordinate resources across the organization as needed, this individual will partner with a broad range of Vertiv sales teams to ensure accurate and compliant responses to a variety of bid opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Bid Strategy, Planning & Execution

  • Coordinate and ensure timely and accurate responses to North American bids and some international requests received from the Vertiv Sales team (Local Vertiv Offices, Factory Direct Offices and other Vertiv Sales Teams).
  • Actively lead bid kick-off meetings and drive alignment across internal teams to promote accountability and results.
  • Maintain and monitor the bids in the Bid Desk Smart Sheet, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission.
  • Engage on international opportunities as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by Sales Operations or Bid Desk leadership.

Cross-Functional Coordination & Stakeholder Management

  • Ensure accurate and timely collaboration with stakeholders including inside sales, technical sales, pricing, offering management, tax, and operations.
  • Act as primary liaison for global or regional bid initiatives, resolving conflicts and aligning stakeholders toward shared goals.
  • Proactively build strong relationships across the Vertiv Organizations to facilitate and lead bid coordination.

Process Improvement & Governance

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement actions for response to bids.
  • Capture lessons learned and maintained reusable content libraries, templates, and best practices to drive efficiency and quality.
  • Track bid performance metrics and provide actionable insights to support continuous improvement and stronger business outcomes.
  • Act as a back up for assistance with federal bids as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 4-8 years of selling or marketing experience.
  • Ability to scale, manage and prioritize activities in line with responsibilities.
  • Must possess strong analytical skills and a proven ability to translate ideas into actions.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and be comfortable and willing to speak with all functional departments.
  • Effective written & oral communication skills.
  • Strong PC & software skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
