Position Overview

Downtown Houston law firm is seeking a seasoned Bank Litigation Attorney to join the firm as a Senior Associate. This role is designed for an accomplished litigator with at least seven years of experience in litigation and preferably representing financial institutions. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to independently manage cases from inception through resolution, produce exceptional written work, and contribute to the firm’s continued growth.


This position offers the opportunity to work closely with one of the firm’s regionally recognized bank litigation attorneys, known for significant courtroom successes and deep expertise in financial institution defense.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently manage and litigate bank litigation matters from pre-suit through trial and appeal
  • Draft, review, and oversee high-quality pleadings, dispositive motions, briefs, and other litigation filings
  • Develop and execute litigation strategy in coordination with clients
  • Appear in court for hearings, trials, mediations, and negotiations
  • Provide counsel to financial institution clients, including risk assessment and resolution planning
  • Mentor and supervise associates and support staff as appropriate
  • Actively participate in business development efforts, including client relationship management and expansion of existing accounts
  • Maintain exceptional client communication and the highest standards of professionalism

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in Texas
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of substantive litigation experience with some banking litigation experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to handle matters independently and exercise sound judgment
  • Excellent legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
  • Proven success in court proceedings, negotiations, and dispute resolution
