About the Opportunity

A leading aviation organization is seeking an experienced Avionics Manager to oversee shop operations, provide technical leadership, and support a high-performing avionics team. This role is ideal for a hands-on aviation professional who combines strong avionics expertise with leadership and mentoring capabilities. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality aircraft modifications, troubleshooting complex systems, and ensuring every project meets the highest standards of safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction.


Responsibilities

  • Lead daily shop floor operations and serve as acting General Manager when needed.
  • Provide technical guidance and resolve complex avionics installation and troubleshooting issues.
  • Train, mentor, and develop technicians to support team growth and performance.
  • Monitor team attendance, compliance, productivity, and accountability.
  • Conduct inspections and final close-outs to ensure compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer requirements, and customer standards.
  • Implement Corrective Action Reports (CARs) and maintain accurate operational records.
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and test avionics systems on corporate and private aircraft.
  • Support aircraft return-to-service activities by ensuring systems are safe and operational.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional communication and service.
  • Contribute to process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and quality standards.


Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in general aviation or a related aviation environment.
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft electrical and avionics systems.
  • Proven troubleshooting experience with avionics systems on corporate and private aircraft.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.
  • Experience installing wiring harnesses and programming avionics systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain airport security clearance.
  • Preferred experience with:
  • Pitot-static testing.
  • Cabin entertainment and Wi-Fi systems.
  • Garmin and Honeywell avionics systems.
