Autonomous Vehicle Operator (Travel)

Insight Global is hiring Autonomous Vehicle Test Operators with a client of ours where you’ll play a hands-on role in testing and validating self-driving vehicles in real-world environments. I thought your background and experience aligns well with what they look for.

Autonomous Vehicle Test Operator (Travel Role) – $44/hr

What you’ll do:

• Travel ~3 weeks/month to test sites across the U.S.
• Drive and operate autonomous test vehicles alongside engineers (and independently at times)
• Execute structured test plans and real-world driving scenarios
• Calibrate vehicle systems and in-car equipment
• Monitor vehicle performance and troubleshoot issues in real time
• Collect data, document test results, and share feedback with engineering teams
• Collaborate with developers and operations teams to improve AV performance

Schedule:

• Monday–Friday, ~8 AM–5 PM (40+ hours/week, overtime available)

What we’re looking for:

• Experience with Linux/Unix/QNX command line environments
• Background in software testing, AV testing, or similar technical roles
• Basic scripting (shell scripting preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured testing protocols
• Clean driving record (minimal points, no accidents)

Compensation:

$44/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
