Position: Automation Engineer
Location: Northwood, OH
Duration: PERM
OT: 45 hour weeks - 7pm to 4am hours - rotating Saturdays - split shift position - no OT paid after 45 hrs - get comp time instead
Travel: Rare but could include occasional day travel

Compensation:
$80k to $110k per year annual salary.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s in Engineering Science/Technology or 5+ years of experience within a related field.
Strong background in manufacturing, automation, controls, and troubleshooting.
Experience in PLC programming & troubleshooting (Allen Bradley preferred) and HMI software programming (Factory Talk or Ignition preferred).
Experience designing, building, & programming machines/robots.
Preferred:
Project Management experience.
SQL and Python experience. And SolidWorks
Experience working with cobots.
Familiarity with ultrasonic welding.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.
Day to Day:
Insight Global is looking for an Automation Engineer that manages and improves secondary equipment and assembly processes, focusing on increasing uptime, capability, and reducing cycle time. Daily responsibilities include supporting new program launches, implementing error‑proofing systems, responding to downtime, and assisting with equipment builds, PM development, and quality investigations. The engineer trains department personnel, reviews new technologies, manages special projects, and supports maintenance, engineering, and lean initiatives. Some travel and occasional weekend work are required.
