Job Title: Automation Engineer (Robotics and Vision)
Location: Edinburgh, IN on-site
Salary: $75k-$85k /yr DOE
Requirements: BS in Engineering, Automation or related field, Hands-on experience with Universal Robots (UR), COBOTs, Machine Vision Integration, PLC's, Industrial Automation
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer with hands-on experience programming Universal Robots (UR cobots) and integrating machine vision systems in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, optimize, and support Universal Robots (collaborative robots)
- Install and integrate robots into production lines
- Troubleshoot automation issues and perform routine robot maintenance
- Integrate machine vision systems for inspection and quality control
- Improve automation efficiency and uptime on the production floor
- Create documentation and train operators and maintenance teams
- Ensure all robotics systems meet safety standards
- Manage automation-related parts inventory and BOMs
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Automation, Engineering Technology or Control Systems Engineering
- Hands-on experience with Universal Robots (UR)
- Experience with collaborative robots (cobots)
- Machine vision system integration experience
- Familiarity with PLCs and industrial automation systems
- Programming experience (Python, C++, or robot programming languages)
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Nice to Have
- PLC programming experience
- 3D CAD or robot simulation experience
- Continuous improvement or process optimization experience
