About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Commercial Litigation Attorney to join our growing legal team in Charlotte. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex business disputes and represent clients in a wide range of commercial litigation matters, including contract disputes, business torts, partnership conflicts, and other high-stakes litigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle all aspects of commercial litigation matters from pre-suit investigation through trial and appeal.
- Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and legal memoranda.
- Conduct legal research and case strategy development.
- Manage discovery, including depositions, document review, and expert coordination.
- Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations.
- Collaborate with partners and clients to develop effective litigation strategies.
- Maintain strong client relationships and provide practical, business-focused legal advice.
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in North Carolina (or ability to obtain promptly).
- 3–8+ years of experience in commercial litigation at a law firm or similar legal environment.
- Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
- Experience managing complex litigation matters and working with corporate clients.
- Ability to handle multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience
- Trial or arbitration experience.
- Experience with federal and state court litigation.
- Background in business disputes, partnership conflicts, or contract litigation.
