Associate Technical Designer

Our client, a contemporary women's apparel brand, is seeking a Technical Design Associate to join their growing team in NYC! This role will manage the private label business for women's categories within a small, collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical design process from concept through production for Private Label styles
• Measure all samples and maintain accurate spec sheets
• Evaluate garment construction, balance, and fit to ensure consistency with design intent. Provide clients with suggested next steps for fit and construction
• Develop initial specs and build comprehensive tech packs for new styles
• Partner directly with overseas factories to communicate corrections, review samples, and resolve technical issues
• Track sample development and ensure all timelines are met
• Review quality submits to ensure alignment with customer standards
• Support product development workflows as needed, including line sheets and sample coordination
• Track and ship development packages
• Organize and maintain sample and submit archives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Product Development, or Technical Design
• 1–3 years of experience in fashion design, product development, or technical design
• Strong proficiency in measuring samples and a solid understanding of garment construction
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
• Flexible, hands-on mindset with a willingness to learn and take on varied responsibilities

Salary: $60k-70k
