Associate Sourcing Manager

Summary /Objective

The Associate Sourcing Manager is responsible for running the development of fabric and trim from conception through to production. Partnering cross-functionally to develop, communicate, and deliver on product design and brand aesthetic.

Position Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Fabric Maintenance and Duties
• Work closely with Design with the development on new fabrics and trims
• Work closely with Design and Product Managers to develop/source fabric to execute the quality expectations, appearance, hand feel and finish,
• Coordinate with production director to achieve price point, and any testing issues.
• Run monthly meetings with production to review greige for all brands and writeup commitment purchase orders as necessary
• Review and approve tested fabric reports
• Securing raw material FDS at the start of the season on all new qualities and trim
• Send out and receive daily packages from global raw material office and/or mill partners
• Ship fabric/color standards - follow up with airway bill info
• Coordinate closely with suppliers and mills on developments, sampling, testing, and approvals.
• Responsible for creating and maintaining accurate and up-to-date seasonal development charts
• Build and maintain fashion fabric library, supporting utilization by R&D team and designers
• Attend fabric trade shows and meet with new and existing suppliers to help with negotiating fabric costs and maintaining relationships
• Help to maintain and organize physical and digital brand library and archive brand records
• Write up color comments, if necessary
• Provide support on special projects as needed

Qualifications and Competencies:

• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, proficient with Microsoft Office package
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Detail oriented, organized and very good follow up skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and able to multi-task
• Proactive problem solver who can effectively manage dynamic challenges
• Knowledge of swimwear and intimate fabric/trim sourcing

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor Degree in fashion related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in apparel, preferably swimwear, intimates, or activewear.
