Position Overview

We are seeking an Associate level attorney with significant experience in labor and employment law to join our growing practice. The ideal candidate will advise employers on a wide range of workplace matters, including compliance, employee relations, and employment litigation. This role involves counseling businesses on employment law issues, drafting employment-related agreements and policies, and representing employers in administrative proceedings and litigation.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Advise employers on a wide range of labor and employment matters, including workplace policies, employee discipline and termination, leave of absence and accommodation issues, wage and hour compliance, and workplace investigations.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related documents such as employment agreements, non-compete and restrictive covenant agreements, separation agreements, employee handbooks, and workplace policies.
  • Provide day-to-day counseling to businesses regarding federal, state, and local employment laws and regulatory compliance.
  • Represent employers in employment-related litigation matters in state and federal courts.
  • Handle administrative proceedings before agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and similar state agencies.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and advise clients on employee complaints, discrimination and harassment claims, and internal compliance matters.
  • Assist employers with strategies to mitigate risk and avoid litigation, including proactive policy development and training.
  • Stay current with developments in labor and employment law and advise clients on emerging legal trends and compliance requirements.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships while serving as a trusted advisor to business leaders and HR professionals.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • 3+ years of labor and employment law experience.
  • Experience counseling employers on employment law compliance and workplace matters.
  • Litigation experience in employment-related disputes is preferred.
  • Experience handling administrative agency matters (e.g., EEOC or similar state agencies).
  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Ohio is required.
  • Demonstrated excellence in legal writing, analysis, and advocacy.
  • A self-starter attitude with the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent communication skills and a client-focused approach.
