This role will drive our eCommerce merchandising strategy for select product categories in the animal health and wellness space, and will be instrumental in growing our online assortment, optimizing promotional performance, and enhancing the overall digital customer experience. The successful candidate will have deep digital merchandising experience. Highlights include responsibility for curating, planning, and promoting the online product mix, building strong partnerships with vendors, and collaborating closely with internal teams to maximize sales, margin, and customer engagement.


RESPONSIBILITIES

E-Commerce Merchandising Strategy:

  • Develop and execute merchandising initiatives for assigned animal product lines to meet online sales and profitability goals.

Product & Promotional Planning:

  • Merchandise product assortment on the website and digital promotional channels.
  • Support all go-to-market activities with flawless execution and business analysis.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal partners across eCommerce, merchandising, marketing, and operations to drive omni-channel alignment.

Vendor Management:

  • Lead vendor relationships for assigned categories, including assortment planning, promotional strategies, and performance optimization.

Sales & Inventory Forecasting:

  • Partner with inventory and merchandising teams to forecast eCommerce demand.
  • Monitor in-stock rates, and drive decisions to support online growth and minimal stockouts.

Marketing Execution:

  • Collaborate on marketing calendar creation and execution.
  • Own promo pricing, ad proofing, SEO/SEM coordination, and landing page accuracy.

Strategic Planning:

  • Contribute to long-term planning efforts including the expansion of drop ship assortment and long-tail product strategies for an "endless aisle" online experience.

Pricing & Competitive Analysis:

  • Use tools and data to monitor competitive pricing and identify assortment gaps or new opportunities.

Reporting & Analytics:

  • Pull and analyze data using business intelligence tools (e.g., SAP, BO, ATLAS) to assess performance and guide merchandising decisions.

Communication & Follow-Through:

  • Maintain clear, proactive communication with all stakeholders, ensuring alignment on objectives and flawless follow-up on execution.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience in merchandising or digital retail will be considered.
  • 3-5 years of eCommerce or omni-channel merchandising experience, ideally in the animal product industry (pet, livestock, equine, veterinary, or related sectors).
  • Familiarity with the animal health, pet care, or agri-lifestyle space
  • Strong understanding of digital merchandising tools and platforms
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced digital environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and eCommerce reporting tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working with vendors, marketing, and tech teams
  • Flexibility to travel or work extended hours as needed

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with drop ship programs
  • Experience working with SAP, ATLAS, or similar merchandising tools
