Overview

The Associate Director of Procurement has overall responsibilities for indirect procurement. Including, but not limited to, the design function and continuous improvement of the procurement and supply management process. This person is accountable for indirect procurement, contract negotiations, and the sourcing of the highest-quality products and services at the lowest possible price.

This individual will be expected to make significant contributions toward the development of corporate policies, direction, and strategies, and by his/her performance, help ensure the strong financial condition, performance, and reputation of the company.

In addition, this role will be responsible for healthcare spending, travel-related vendors, corporate cards, and purchase order activities. The A. Director of Procurement will also work with the Accounting team and Internal Audit in updating and reviewing the Corporate T&E policy.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for SEC procurement activity, including all RFQ requirements, vendor selection, price negotiation, and contract review.
  • Responsible for the review of all potential procurement-related contract obligations for SEC.
  • Responsible for the SAP Vendor Master file for North America.
  • Responsible for continually reviewing the supply management function operating results and ensuring that appropriate actions are taken to correct unsatisfactory conditions.
  • Responsible for establishing policies and procedures to direct the management of all travel and entertainment for SEC.
  • Responsible for all significant IT procurement activity including the issuance of RFQ’s, lease vs. buy decisions, and contract review.
  • Responsible for developing and gaining approval for the operation and capital budget for all supply management activities and monitoring them to ensure continued compliance.
  • Responsible for establishing the supply management organization structure and staffing requirements best suited to achieving corporate and process goals.
  • Responsible for developing short- and long-range plans, objectives, and strategies for the supply management function.
  • Responsible for ensuring alternate sources of supply and substitute materials and services for all key purchases.
  • Responsible for improving the supply network by improving current vendor’s performance and identifying new vendors to ensure the highest quality at the best cost.
  • Oversee all corporate credit cards, including best practices for usage, compliance, and employee satisfaction.
  • Tracks overall indirect spend and proposes strategies for improving any areas within the company.
  • Reviews, evaluates and negotiates bank service agreements.
  • Recommends items for strategic planning.
  • Evaluates and negotiate financial services pricing.
  • Recommends and manages process improvement initiatives.
  • Conducts sign-offs for J-SOX compliance.
  • Supports disaster recovery planning and implementation.
  • Works with the insurance broker on all renewals of the company’s insurance policies and collaborates with Brokers, HR, and Sr. Management on establishing the correct policy coverage and limits.
  • Analyzes insurance quotes with help from the insurance broker as to the best fit for the company and works with the insurance broker to negotiate the best pricing.
  • Supports the company with inquiries and questions regarding insurance policy coverage and risk management.
  • Reviews quarterly savings goals and achievements with senior management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with an MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in the purchasing/procurement area in a corporate environment.
  • Ability to think strategically and develop appropriate procurement plans that enhance the operating efficiency and service of the corporation.
  • Managerial experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Web-based banking systems and treasury management systems.
  • Working knowledge of insurance policies and coverage.
  • Occassional travel as required (<5%)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent leadership and presentation skills

Compensation for this position

The compensation range for this role is $140,00-$160,000 The listed salary range or contractual rate excludes bonuses, incentives, differential pay, and any other forms of compensation or benefits. The starting salary will be determined by several variables, including but not limited to experience, education, training, certification, and location. You may also be eligible to receive an annual discretionary incentive award, commissions, and program-specific awards, which are subject to the rules governing these programs.
