Job Description


The Associate Brand Manager is responsible for implementing the marketing mix within the company’s Brand, Private Label, and other assigned product lines, to deliver maximum profit and margin. Position executes activities related to pricing, products, packaging and processes in order to build channel and enhance its profitability.


About the Role


This position reports to the Senior Brand Manager and does not supervise staff. The position works closely with Sales, Marketing, Quality Assurance, Production, Procurement, Customer Service, Traffic, Product Development, Finance, Purchasing, external agencies and partners, sales agents, customers, and consumers.


Responsibilities


  • Monitor business plans and performance for assigned product lines including volume, pricing and spending by key product lines and activities. Recommend and implement corrective actions to achieve margin for assigned product lines. Execute strategies, action plans, and recommendations which incorporate a thorough understanding of the business and financial impact.
  • Identify needed product improvement, cost reduction, or other channel-specific enhancing opportunities. Implement smaller opportunities and define larger projects for potential activation. Activities may include package redesign, line extensions, channel specific new products, and/or margin enhancement projects.
  • Execute customer-specific programs to meet key customer initiatives. Produce, query, and track information and data as necessary to support assigned channels. Analyze data and provide recommendations for smaller changes.
  • Assist in the development and execution of new product launch business plans, consumer & customer communication and other marketing initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of consumer trends, consumer demographics, psychographics and macro socio-economic issues that influence consumer buying behavior. Implement market research as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of general communication vehicles/strategies required to effectively and efficiently reach our target customer. Assist in creation and execution of programs that create a meaningful connection with our consumer.
  • Have regular attendance and work appropriate number of hours to get the essential functions completed.

Qualifications


  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or related field, or additional experience in lieu of a degree is required. MBA preferred.
  • Preferred 3-5 years of experience in product/marketing/brand management.
  • Experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods is highly preferred.

  • Principles and practices of marketing, advertising, promotions and general communication strategies.
  • Working knowledge of marketing position and customer segmentation.
  • Working knowledge of market analysis, metrics, research, and monitoring mechanisms.
  • General understanding of strategic planning and execution.
  • Pertinent Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and regulations.

Pay range and compensation package


Constantly works in an office environment. Occasionally works mandatory overtime. Occasionally deals with highly confidential information. Occasionally works under tight time constraints or with business activities of a seasonal/cyclical nature. Occasionally travels, including overnight stays, to other worksites, for off-site meetings, and for training purposes.
