About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigator to join a busy insurance defense practice with exposure to high-quality matters. The successful candidate will handle a diverse caseload involving general liability defense, with a particular focus on premises liability and toxic tort matters.

Responsibilities

• Manage and assist with insurance defense litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other litigation documents
• Conduct legal research and prepare case strategies
• Handle written discovery and manage document review
• Take and defend depositions
• Attend court appearances, hearings, and mediations
• Work closely with partners and senior attorneys on case strategy and client communication

Qualifications

• 4+ years of litigation experience (preferably in insurance defense)
• Experience with premises liability and/or toxic tort matters is a strong advantage
• Admitted to the DC Bar (required)

Required Skills

• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Confident drafting ability with attention to detail
• Experience with depositions and litigation procedures
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
• Sound judgment and a practical, solution-oriented approach
