About the Opportunity
A well-established and growing litigation firm is seeking a California-licensed Associate Attorney with 1–5+ years of insurance defense or civil litigation experience to join its team in Huntington Beach.
This is a high-growth opportunity for attorneys who want hands-on courtroom exposure, mentorship from experienced trial attorneys, and a clear path to partnership. You’ll work directly with insurance carriers, healthcare providers, and institutional clients, handling meaningful cases from day one.
What You’ll Do
- Manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution
- Handle insurance defense matters including:
- Personal Injury
- Premises Liability
- General Liability
- Construction Defect (preferred)
- Draft and argue motions (MSJ, demurrers, discovery motions)
- Conduct and defend depositions (parties, witnesses, experts)
- Prepare liability and exposure analyses for insurance carriers
- Draft and respond to written discovery
- Attend court hearings, mediations, and trial preparation
- Communicate regularly with clients, insurance adjusters, and opposing counsel
What We’re Looking For
- Active California Bar license (required)
- 1–5+ years of experience in insurance defense or civil litigation
- Experience with:
- Depositions
- Motion practice
- Discovery
- Familiarity with insurance carriers and reporting is highly preferred
- Background in medical malpractice, premises liability, or general liability is a plus
- Strong legal writing, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment
