About the Role
We are seeking an experienced associate attorney to join our growing Jacksonville practice group. This is a hands-on role within a sophisticated and active litigation practice, offering the opportunity to work on a broad range of civil matters and develop depth across multiple areas of law. The Jacksonville group handles a diverse and high exposure docket that includes defense litigation, general liability and personal injury matters, construction and real property disputes, insurance defense and coverage work, professional liability, product liability, transportation litigation, and commercial and contract disputes.
Responsibilities
• Handle a diverse caseload including personal injury, wrongful death, commercial disputes, construction and property claims, insurance defense, and transportation related matters
• Represent regional and national clients, including insurers, commercial businesses, property owners, and transportation related entities
• Participate in all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, depositions, hearings, mediation, and trial preparation
• Work closely with partners on case strategy, early evaluation, and resolution planning
• Maintain direct communication with clients and contribute to efficient, cost effective case management
• Take ownership of assignments and play an active role in a growing and collaborative practice group
Qualifications
• 3+ years of litigation experience in civil litigation, insurance defense, commercial litigation, construction, transportation, or related practice areas
• Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to manage responsibilities in a fast paced, team driven environment
• Interest in developing a broad and sophisticated litigation practice
Preferred Experience
• Deposition, hearing, or motion practice experience
• Background in defense litigation, insurance coverage, commercial litigation, or construction related matters
• Experience working with insurers, commercial clients, or property related disputes
• Comfort with file ownership and client interaction
