Responsibilities Included

  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, status calls, pretrials, and trials
  • Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, legal memoranda, and other legal documents
  • Conduct thorough legal research and write briefs
  • Manage all aspects of written discovery
  • Prepare and take depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
  • Participate in mediations
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court
  • Review case materials and draft evaluations, status reports, and litigation updates
  • Assist in developing systems to manage deadlines and collaborate efficiently with other attorneys
  • Litigate and defend general and complex matters on both local and national levels

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active Illinois Bar membership (in good standing).
  • additional licenses are a plus
  • Civil Litigation Defense Experience: 5+ years (Required)
  • Defense Experience: 5+ years (Required)
  • Products Liability Experience: 4 years (Required)
  • General Litigation Experience: 5+ years (Required)
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Calendar): 2 years (Required)
  • Deposition and discovery experience:(Required)
  • Trial Experience: (Preferred)
  • Alternative Dispute Resolution Experience
  • Additional Practice area experience: Personal injury, Civil Rights Litigation, Mass Torts, or Medical Malpractice (Preferred)
  • Compassionate and client-focused approach to legal representation.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple cases.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
