Sherwood Law Group is a growing plaintiff-side personal injury firm in Chicago seeking an Associate Attorney to join its litigation team. This opportunity is best suited for an early-career attorney who is motivated to gain hands-on courtroom experience and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.


This role offers immediate exposure to active casework, including court appearances and depositions, with the opportunity to develop skills quickly through direct involvement and mentorship from more experienced attorneys. Candidates should be an expert in time and case organization, willingness to take on difficult cases with high volume, excel in client communication, have the ability to multi-task and be excited to work on a diverse case load as do Plaintiff’s work.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage a high-volume caseload of plaintiff-side personal injury matters
  • Take and defend depositions
  • Attend court appearances, hearings, and mediations
  • Assist with trial preparation and participate in trials through verdict
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders
  • Negotiate settlements and support resolution strategies
  • Maintain organization across multiple active cases and deadlines


Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in Illinois (not pending)
  • 0–4 years of experience in personal injury or related litigation
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively
  • Strong interest in litigation and courtroom exposure
  • Willingness to take on a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced setting


Preferred Background:

  • Experience with depositions, court appearances, or trial preparation
  • Backgrounds in personal injury, insurance defense, workers’ compensation, or civil litigation
  • Exposure to motion practice, pleadings, or litigation support work


Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base salary range: $70,000 – $90,000
