Pay Range: $100K/Annum to 110K/Annum (Salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors).

1. Role Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of civil and environmental engineering projects. This role provides an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer looking to expand their project management responsibilities while contributing to water, wastewater, drainage, and local infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical engineering expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, design teams, clients, and technical staff. This position offers a clear growth path toward a Project Manager role.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers with proposals, project delivery, scheduling, billing, client communication, and overall project coordination.
• Perform Project Engineering responsibilities, including serving as Engineer of Record when assigned.
• Assist with project management activities and gain hands-on experience in managing project scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Develop preliminary design approaches for major project phases and independently manage engineering work on smaller projects with limited supervision.
• Coordinate with internal design teams to ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality project execution.
• Monitor project progress and support the successful completion of project milestones.
• Supervise, mentor, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technical support staff.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, project stakeholders, and internal teams.

3. Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Texas.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience within the civil engineering industry.
• At least 1 year of experience serving in a Project Engineer capacity.
• Experience supporting water, wastewater, drainage, or municipal infrastructure projects.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with clients and project teams.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

4. Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting both project engineering and project management functions.
• Ability to coordinate effectively across project managers, engineering teams, and clients.
• Interest in advancing into a full Project Manager role.
• Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced consulting or engineering environment.
• Proven ability to mentor junior engineering staff and contribute to team development.
