The Assistant Professor of Social Work invites applications for a tenure-track position in the Department of Social Work. This full-time position entails teaching undergraduate courses, engaging in research and scholarship, providing academic advising, and contributing to departmental service and College-wide initiatives. The applicant must demonstrate a commitment to diversity, effective teaching, and enhancing learning experiences. Specific Responsibilities: - Conduct undergraduate sociology courses, including core courses such as Introduction to Sociology, Social Problems, Sociological Theory, etc. - Develop course materials and engage in various teaching methods including lectures, group discussions. - Advise students on academic planning, career development, and research opportunities. - Engage in scholarly activities and publish research. - Maintain clean and orderly records in compliance with FERPA standards. Required Qualifications: - A master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program. - Minimum of two years post-MSW professional experience. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Knowledge of basic ethical teaching contexts. Preferred Qualifications: - Ph.D. in Social Work or enrollment in a Ph.D. program. - Field education experience.
