JOB SUMMARY:

The Assistant Manager, Technical Documentation is primarily responsible for the coordination of training and guidance programs and supporting initiatives of Core Engineering & Safety. This includes the development and management of accurate and timely reports and tracking systems; entry of ride/show action items and/or processes; and assisting in the development of new training resources as required. Additional responsibilities may include supporting the revisions of controlled documents; organizing and developing scopes of work for projects from multiple disciplines, contract specifications and facility requirements; and, working with the Responsible Individuals (RIs). Working knowledge of multiple disciplines and experience documenting complex systems, including: Show Animation, Show Action Equipment, Ride Conveyance (numerous types), Ride and Show Control Systems, Hydraulic Power Systems, Lighting Systems, Audio Systems, Projection Systems, and/or Special Effects is preferred.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Initiates and manages various action items or processes required in the administration of training and guidance to project teams.
  • Coordinates with other departments as required to ensure full information integration and reviews all training status data in order to report status updates to Engineering & Safety leadership on an
    on-going basis. Data is critical to monthly senior management reporting.
  • Works with Core Engineering & Safety leadership to revise and develop controlled documents, including: specifications, standards, guidance documents, and templates.
  • Works with RI’s to review and edit documents such as Scope of Work, Deliverables, and System Requirements Articles using templates and standards while maintaining quality control and consistency.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the construction field.
  • Strong and effective communicator, both verbally and written, with ability to interface with various departments of the company, as well as outside vendors and contractors
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Possess good organizational, analytical and problem solving ability.
  • Detail oriented with proven ability to orchestrate and execute multiple activities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment using resources effectively and efficiently.
  • Represent the company at all times with high moral and ethical conduct.
  • Proven ability to work independently with little to no direction and maintain a strong focus on business priorities and be persistent in follow-through.
SCOPE: 

Moderately routine; general policies applied. Some decision-making. Influences decisions of moderate nature requiring high degree of tact.

EDUCATION: 

Associate’s degree in a Technical Field required.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management preferred. 

EXPERIENCE: 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years project management / technical writing / engineering / technical theater related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office required.
  • 1-2 Years of Theme Park specific experience is highly preferred
