We are hiring an Assistant Manager, Human Resource to join our team in City of Industry, CA.


About the Role

This is an exempt administrative position under California law (Labor Code §515). The successful candidate will spend the majority of working time exercising independent judgment and discretion on significant HR matters across our corporate office, manufacturing facilities, and multi-state locations — from employee relations and compliance to performance management, leave administration, and workforce planning.


What You Will Do

  • Lead employee relations matters, workplace investigations, and resolution of complex HR issues with sound

independent judgment.

  • Partner with managers on performance management, corrective action, coaching, and workforce planning.
  • Administer benefits and California leave programs, including CFRA, PDL, FMLA, and PFL.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, California, and multi-state employment law, including FEHA, ADA, and

applicable IWC Wage Orders.

  • Maintain HRIS, personnel records, and support payroll and timekeeping compliance.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, training programs, and organizational initiatives.
  • Prepare workforce reports, analyze data, and recommend process improvements.


What We Are Looking For

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of

education and experience.

  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive HR experience.
  • Strong knowledge of California employment law: wage and hour, CFRA, PDL, FMLA, PFL, FEHA, ADA, and IWC

Wage Orders.

  • Proficiency with HRIS, payroll, timekeeping, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive matters with

professionalism and discretion.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, conflict-resolution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Preferred:

  • Experience in manufacturing, food processing, or multi-location operations.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Mandarin and/or Spanish is preferred due to the diverse employee population served in this role.


Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $90,000 – $110,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, skills, and business needs. This range represents the full pay scale for this role per California SB 1162.
  • Medical insurance; 401(k); paid vacation, sick leave, and company holidays;
  • California state leave entitlements: California Paid Sick Leave, CFRA, Pregnancy Disability Leave (PDL), and Paid Family Leave (PFL).
