Work closely with the Maintenance Manager to ensure goals of the department are met.
Communicate directly with operations to coordinate maintenance and repairs for equipment.
Communicate with QA to ensure effective participation by the maintenance technicians in the implementation of QA policies and procedures.
Implement programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness.
Assist with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions.
Ensure all maintenance technicians are trained on the most updated version of the operating procedures.
Monitor operation of plant equipment and systems.
Supervise plant maintenance staff.
Initiate, implement, and manage the plant maintenance program based on best practices, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance.
Requirements
Some college or technical certification preferred
5+ years managing a maintenance department required, poultry industry preferred
Strong demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
Physical Requirements
Typical office environment within a manufacturing plant utilizing computers, telephones and other office equipment.
Exposure to noise (>85 decibels), CO2, and moving production lines.
Exposure to heat (99°F, 37°C) and cold (45°F, 4°C).
Exposure to damp, wet and cold environments.
Regularly lift 25+ lbs.
Work around live and/or raw animal odors.
