Assistant Controller
Location: Oxnard, CA
Compensation: $130,000 - $150,000 annually
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Assistant Controller to join our growing finance and accounting team in Oxnard, California. Reporting directly to the Controller and working closely with the CFO, this role will be instrumental in strengthening accounting operations, implementing and maintaining GAAP-compliant controls, and improving month-end close and account reconciliation processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the CFO and Controller to enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls in accordance with GAAP.
- Lead and oversee the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Review and strengthen account reconciliation procedures, including bank reconciliations and balance sheet account analysis.
- Manage cash management activities, treasury operations, and daily liquidity monitoring.
- Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, inventory accounting, and general accounting functions.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records and support audit and compliance requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, close timelines, and reporting efficiency.
- Assist with financial analysis and special projects as assigned by executive leadership.
- Support ERP and systems enhancement initiatives, including process optimization and implementation projects.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, logistics, inventory, and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
- Progressive accounting leadership experience with responsibility for month-end close and financial reporting..
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a publicly traded company environment.
- Industry experience in agriculture, manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or related sectors.
- Experience supporting ERP implementations, upgrades, or accounting system enhancements.
- CPA designation is a plus.
