Role Description
Assistant Controller
- Lead General Ledger, consolidations, and overall close process, ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, preferably within manufacturing, technology, or biotech environments.
- Own close calendars, account reconciliations, and variance/flux analysis across the organization.n
- Manage and develop the accounting team, establishing clear accountability, strong execution, and career growth.
- Foster a culture of leadership, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across the team
- Lead day-to-day accounting operations across AP, AR, and core accounting functions within a dynamic, growth-oriented environment (manufacturing, technology, or biotech experience preferred)
- Oversee and optimize workflows within FloQast and other financial systems
- Provide hands-on support and backup for Concur expense reporting and travel systems (Egencia)
- Directly manage the Payroll Manager, with oversight of domestic and international payroll operations
- Partner with HR and third-party providers to ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and process efficiency
- Partner cross-functionally to support business operations and communicate financial results
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and system enhancements
- Maintain and enhance documentation of accounting policies, procedures, and workflows
- Support system implementations, upgrades, and finance transformation initiatives
- Assist with internal controls, SOX compliance, and audit coordination
- Support financial reporting activities and internal deliverables in partnership with leadership
- Assist the Corporate Controller with technical accounting matters and SEC reporting
Qualifications:
CPA required; Big 4 CPA highly preferred
3+ years in public accounting (Big 4 or national firms)
5+ years of industry experience within public companies (manufacturing, technology, or biotech preferred)
3+ years of experience leading day-to-day accounting operations
- Must be highly detailed, work well independently, and also provide strong leadership

- Experience with SEC reporting and technical accounting

Base Salary range: 165,000-185,000
