We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and service-focused Assistant Branch Manager to support branch operations, lead staff, and help deliver an outstanding member experience.


Position Summary

The Assistant Branch Manager supports the Branch Manager in the daily operations of the branch, ensuring efficient service delivery, regulatory compliance, and achievement of business goals. This role serves as a leader and coach to branch employees while fostering a positive, member-focused culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the branch to ensure efficient and accurate service.
  • Support the Branch Manager in achieving branch performance goals, including member service, deposit growth, lending, and business development objectives.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop branch staff through ongoing training, performance feedback, and employee development initiatives.
  • Serve as a resource for employees by providing guidance on policies, procedures, products, and member service issues.
  • Assist members with complex account inquiries, loan applications, account openings, and problem resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations, credit union policies, security procedures, and operational standards.
  • Monitor cash handling, balancing, and audit processes to maintain operational integrity.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management activities.
  • Promote credit union products and services by identifying member needs and recommending appropriate financial solutions.
  • Participate in community outreach, business development activities, and member engagement initiatives.
  • Act as Branch Manager in their absence.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of banking, credit union, or retail experience.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of retail banking operations, deposit products, consumer lending, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, motivate, and develop employees.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency with banking systems and Microsoft Office applications.
