McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine, is actively seeking pediatric hospitalists to join our team at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center.

Our division'smission is to deliver high-quality, evidence-based, family-centered care to hospitalized pediatric patients at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center, and Greater Houston. We prioritize effective communication, professionalism, excellent patient care, ongoing patient safety, and quality improvement initiatives. We also provide strong education for pediatricians, students, families, colleagues, and other medical professionals through curriculum development and educational research, 24-hour on-site clinical care, and supervision of residents and students

Program Highlights:

1. Academic program with a large pediatric residency program and a new PHM fellowship starting in 2026.

2. Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital is a 322-bed quaternary care women and children’s hospital located within the Texas Medical Center with 138 Pediatric beds, including the first Level I pediatric trauma center in the region, 118 NICU beds, and 76 Women’s Center beds

3. Primary pediatric teaching site for UT McGovern Medical School, the 9th largest medical school in the United States.

4. Full complement of pediatric subspecialty services.

Position Key Accountabilities:

1. Average of 32 clinical hours per week.

2. Primarily day shifts; 2-3 nights per month average.

3. Protectedtime for administrative, education, QI, or research work

Qualifications:

  1. Texas Medical License or be eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License.

  2. Board-eligible, or board-certified in Pediatrics (Candidates who are board-eligible, or board-certified in Pediatric Hospital Medicine are preferred).
