Job Title: Assembly Technician I & II

Job Description

The Assembly Technician I & II accurately assembles mechanical and instrumentation components according to piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), blueprints, and bill of materials (BOM) specifications before units move to final testing. This role requires strong tube‑bending, instrumentation fitting, mechanical assembly, and precise measurement skills while working with minimal supervision in a production manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical and instrumentation components in accordance with P&ID drawings, blueprints, and BOM specifications.
  • Verify parts and materials against P&ID drawings and BOM to ensure accuracy before assembly.
  • Perform instrumentation and tubing fitting tasks, ensuring secure and leak‑free connections.
  • Cut and thread piping to specified dimensions using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Measure, bend, and install 3/8" stainless steel tubing to tight tolerances.
  • Use a tape measure accurately to within 1/16 of an inch for layout and verification.
  • Perform mechanical assembly using hand and power tools in a production environment.
  • Follow established procedures and work instructions to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors regarding progress, issues, and quality concerns.
  • Manage time effectively to meet production schedules and deadlines.
  • Adhere to all safety policies, including proper use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Essential Skills

  • Proven mechanical assembly experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&ID drawings and blueprints accurately.
  • Demonstrated tube‑bending experience, including measuring and forming 3/8" stainless steel tubing.
  • Hands‑on experience with instrumentation and tubing fitting.
  • Proficiency in cutting and threading pipe using appropriate tools.
  • Ability to use a tape measure accurately to within 1/16 of an inch.
  • Skilled in the safe use of hand and power tools for mechanical and assembly work.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Approximately 6 months–1 year of instrumentation and tube‑fitting experience (Assembly I level).
  • 2+ years of tube‑bending and pipe threading experience preferred for higher‑level assignments (Assembly II level).
  • Strong organizational skills to manage parts, tools, and documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Technical aptitude for understanding mechanical systems and instrumentation.
  • Effective time management skills to meet production goals.
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail in all assembly and measurement tasks.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform walking, climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, and stooping.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds safely.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a non‑climate‑controlled manufacturing or fabrication shop environment.
  • Experience working with tight tolerances in metal fabrication or assembly.
  • Experience working on weekend or extended shifts in a production setting.
  • Strong safety awareness and consistent use of required PPE.
  • Demonstrated reliability and ability to follow detailed work instructions and procedures.

Work Environment

This role operates on a weekend shift from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday through Sunday, working 36 hours with pay equivalent to 40 hours. The position is based in a non‑climate‑controlled manufacturing environment typical of fabrication shops, with exposure to loud noises, dust, dirt, and metal particles. You regularly use hand and power tools, pipe threading equipment, and measurement tools such as tape measures for precise work. The job involves standing for extended periods, walking, climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, and stooping, as well as lifting and moving materials up to 50 pounds. Required PPE includes hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, and OSHA‑compliant safety boots, and you are expected to wear this protective equipment at all times in designated areas.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sand Springs, OK.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr.
