Job Title: Assembly Technician
Job Description

As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for prototyping new assemblies and systems based on specifications without supervision. You will interpret technical drawings, perform detailed touch-ups, and support the disassembly, rework, and testing of prototypes. You will maintain accurate documentation and logs while performing tasks that support engineering development and testing.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble complex systems, perform functional tests, and troubleshoot issues with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiently bake, cure, weld, laser engrave, and package assemblies, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to address assembly challenges and propose solutions.
  • Perform all non-machining functions of AMS, including wire preparation, pin crimp, cable harness, welding, dip strip, VPI, final assembly, testing, final bake, laser engraving, and any new processes developed.
  • Identify and implement improvements in workflows, efficiency, and safety.
  • Collect accurate production data, track material usage, and support inventory/logistics.
  • Perform setups on manufacturing equipment.
  • Lead by example to facilitate cross-training and improve team skills while enhancing personal skillset.
  • Act as an active learner, working hands-on, effectively, and efficiently.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on assembly experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficient in using hand tools and performing mechanical assembly tasks.
  • Experience with record keeping and production/logging systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality system environments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Intermediate to advanced assembly skills.
  • Proficient in hand tools.
  • Familiarity with mechanical assembly, soldering, wiring, and schematic and blueprint reading.

Work Environment

The work is conducted in a cleanroom environment where you will perform tasks that require standing or sitting for extended periods. You must be capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds and frequently using hands and fingers for detailed assembly work.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Morgan Hill, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
