Application Technology Expert
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role you will discover, develop, and evaluate new product ideas, enhancements to existing products, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Also, you will lead, plan, and track all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Additionally, you will develop design briefs for new product ideas, including specifications, sketches, and/or models to present a clear, focused concept for strategic consideration. Finally, you are responsible within the Product Development Function as a generalist or in a combination of disciplines.
The primary responsibilities of this role, Application Technology Expert, are to:
- Work in a split manner in both foliar and seeds application technology with the following tasks and responsibilities:
- Foliar Tasks:
- Partner with Global Application Technology Centers to measure application parameters under lab, semi-field, and field conditions:
- Droplet size and distribution patterns;
- Drift of application spray;
- Chemigation testing;
- Comparing nozzle/sprayer performance;
- Support the development of new and existing active ingredients and their core formulations regarding all aspects of Application Technology such as:
- Compatibility testing with adjuvants, fertilizers, and competitor products;
- High volume applicability assessment;
- Lab based track spraying;
- Contribute to integration of innovative workflows and applications to capture, process, and analyze data to build understanding and recommendations;
- Seeds Tasks:
- Partner with seed treatment team to execute seasonal seed treatment field trial needs to support Field Solutions, potentially including:
- Label bags and weigh seed into sample batches;
- Assist in operation of treatment equipment;
- Prepare Velocity shipments for distribution to packaging sites;
- Mix treatment slurry actives according to recipe provided;
- Shared Seed & Foliar Tasks:
- Support the team in conducting general operational activities;
- Participate in and contribute to project, technical, or product teams where application technology is relevant and discussed;
- Participate in visitor tours to provide an overview of activities related to application technology for internal and external stakeholders in cooperation with team members of the Application Technology Team.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma;
- Solid understanding of spray equipment and agronomic practices related to chemical application;
- A strong interest in foliar application challenges with a structured, goal-oriented approach to project execution;
- Proven ability to work effectively within diverse, cross-functional, and intercultural teams across various regions;
- High awareness of operational quality, cost-efficiency, and occupational safety standards;
- Ability to analytically assess and diagnose problems and to structure and simplify complex tasks;
- Strong communication skills and a desire to connect collaboratively with stakeholders;
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and uncertainty, to drive goals with confidence.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science with 4+ years of relevant experience; OR
- Master of Science with 1+ years of relevant experience; OR
- High School Diploma with 12+ years relevant experience.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $66,400.00 to $99,600.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
