Position Summary:
As an Analytical Chemist at ZRT Laboratory, you will play a hands-on role in the development and execution of LCMS and GCMS methodologies, contributing directly to the accuracy and advancement of our hormone and wellness testing. Working in our CLIA-certified high complexity laboratory, you will analyze complex biological samples, support method development, and help ensure the quality and integrity of results that matter to patients and providers worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
Production & Analysis:
- Perform commercial, clinical, and research sample preparation, analysis, and documentation
- Create and maintain assay standards, calibrators, and controls
- Rotate between laboratory areas as needed
Instrumentation & Laboratory Operations:
- Operate and maintain a wide range of instrumentation
- Prepare reagents, manage inventory, and perform equipment maintenance
- Handle biohazard waste disposal
Data Management & Documentation:
- Ensure accuracy of data and maintain records
- Document and communicate ongoing and completed projects promptly
Quality & compliance:
- Maintain competency in assigned testing procedure
- Ensure compliance with SOPs and state and federal regulations
- Maintain HIPAA compliance
- Adhere to proper hand hygiene and PPE protocols
Professional Development & Administrative Support:
- Participate in continuing education programs
- Support ordering and budgeting activities
Competencies:
- Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot LCMS/GCMS issues and optimize methods
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear reporting and presentation of analytical results
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to maintaining high data quality and laboratory standards
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
Required Education and Experience:
- Master's degree or higher in Analytical Chemistry or a related field
- Five years of prior LC/GC-MS experience including instrument operation and data analysis
