Position Summary:
Altius Talent is seeking an experienced Air & Ocean Export Specialist on behalf of our client in Miami. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end export shipments across both air and ocean freight, ensuring full compliance with international regulations while delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage international air and ocean export shipments from booking through final delivery
- Prepare and process export documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and airway bills
- Ensure compliance with U.S. export regulations and international shipping requirements
- Communicate with airlines, ocean carriers, overseas agents, and customers to ensure smooth shipment execution
- Track and trace shipments, providing timely updates to clients
- Handle AES filings and ensure accurate data submission
- Resolve shipment issues, delays, or discrepancies proactively
- Maintain accurate records within the company’s operating system
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and vendors
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in air and/or ocean export freight forwarding
- Strong knowledge of export documentation and procedures
- Experience with AES filings and U.S. export compliance regulations
- Familiarity with major carrier booking systems and logistics software
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working for a freight forwarder or NVOCC
- Knowledge of hazardous materials handling (a plus)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
