Vision Quest Information Solutions is a security-first managed IT and cybersecurity firm serving small and mid-sized businesses across Greater Sacramento. We deliver managed IT support, cybersecurity services, Microsoft 365 solutions, compliance guidance, and strategic technology leadership. Our focus is helping clients operate efficiently, reduce risk, and grow with confidence.

AI is changing how businesses work. We intend to lead that shift, first inside our own company, and then alongside our clients. That's where you come in.

The Role

We're hiring a practical, execution-focused AI & Automation Specialist.

This is not a sales job. We're not looking for a quota-carrying BD hire or an AI hype marketer. We're looking for a builder. Someone who sees a tangled process and instinctively starts mapping how to fix it, then ships the fix.

You'll split your time between two missions:

Internal Efficiency & Automation. Use AI and automation to streamline our operations, cut repetitive workload, improve consistency, and generate measurable business impact across the company.

Client Delivery Support. Help our clients adopt AI securely and practically by supporting implementations, answering the hard governance and technical questions, and deploying real solutions that hold up in production.

Everything you build will be built the Vision Quest way: security-first, governed, documented, and made to last.

What You'll DoInternal AI & Automation

• Audit workflows across the business and identify where repetitive manual work is draining hours
• Prioritize the highest-value opportunities and build a clear, phased roadmap
• Implement AI-powered workflows that actually stick, with adoption, measurement, and documentation
• Upgrade our documentation, reporting, and service desk systems
• Support sales admin automation and build dashboards that turn data into decisions
• Train staff on approved tools and measure the time, effort, and error reduction delivered
• Establish internal standards for responsible, secure, and governed AI use

Client AI Support

• Join client calls when deep technical or AI expertise is needed
• Help scope AI opportunities and answer governance, security, and implementation questions
• Support Microsoft Copilot deployments and Copilot Studio builds
• Build workflow automations and deliver scoped AI projects for clients
• Create reusable templates, playbooks, and delivery standards
• Train client users and help organizations adopt AI without creating security or governance problems

Your First 90 Days

Days 1 to 30: Learn the Business Understand our operations, departments, and workflows. Audit current processes. Identify the top efficiency opportunities. Deliver a prioritized roadmap.

Days 31 to 60: Ship the First Wins Launch the first internal improvements, including better ticket summaries, stronger reporting workflows, and improved documentation processes. Establish internal AI governance standards and begin enabling staff on approved tools.

Days 61 to 90: Extend to Clients Support your first client AI projects. Build reusable templates. Help standardize delivery. Establish KPI reporting and present the next-phase roadmap.

Who We're Looking For

You'll be a strong fit if you bring hands-on experience in several of the following:

• Workflow automation and process improvement
• AI productivity tools and prompt engineering
• Microsoft 365, Copilot, and Copilot Studio
• Power Automate, Power BI, SharePoint, Teams
• Zapier, Make, Rewst, or similar automation platforms
• PSA and ticketing systems (common MSP tools like ConnectWise, Autotask, HaloPSA, etc.)
• Documentation systems and knowledge management
• Security-minded thinking and governance awareness
• Clear, direct client communication

MSP or MSSP experience is a plus, but not required.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $90,000 to $120,000, aligned with experience and demonstrated capability
• Performance bonus tied to measurable outcomes and real impact, not vanity metrics
• Benefits and PTO appropriate for a growing Sacramento-area SMB
• Growth path as the AI & Automation function expands. This is a role built to scale with the person in it.
