Position Summary:
Performant Capital is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking AI Automation Specialist to lead the identification and implementation of artificial intelligence solutions that streamline operations and improve efficiency across its portfolio of companies.
This role will serve as a key innovation leader, working across multiple portfolio companies to identify opportunities where AI and automation can drive meaningful impact. We are seeking a specialist who can help modernize operations, reduce inefficiencies, and implement intelligent systems that support scalable growth.

Travel Expectation: Approximately 20% travel to portfolio company locations, including Paso Robles, CA; Bonita Springs, FL; Boston, MA; and Boise, ID.
Key Responsibilities:
AI & Automation Leadership
- Identify, evaluate, and implement AI-driven automation opportunities across portfolio company operations
- Analyze existing workflows to determine where AI tools and automation can improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
- Design and deploy automation solutions that reduce manual tasks and minimize human error
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure integration of AI technologies with existing systems and infrastructure
- Lead the development of AI-powered tools for data analysis, reporting, and operational decision-making
- Monitor and optimize AI systems to ensure accuracy, reliability, and measurable operational improvements
- Develop documentation, training materials, and internal guidelines for AI usage across organizations
- Stay current with emerging AI technologies, automation platforms, and industry best practices
- Promote responsible and safe AI adoption aligned with company policies and operational standards
Required Qualifications:
- Experience working with AI, machine learning, automation, or intelligent workflow systems
- Demonstrated experience implementing process automation or AI-driven operational improvements in business environments
- Experience working alongside IT teams and cross-functional business operations groups
- Knowledge of AI/ML tools, automation platforms, and data analysis frameworks
- Experience with process automation tools (workflow automation or AI platforms)
- Familiarity with APIs, system integrations, and cloud-based technologies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with boards of directors or senior leadership teams
- Background in fast-paced or high-growth organizations
- Project coordination or light project management experience
