We are looking for a motivated ADA Remediation Coordinator eager to support our digital accessibility initiatives under the guidance of our experienced specialists.


Primary Responsibilities:

The ADA Remediation Coordinator will receive comprehensive training and mentorship to build foundational skills in digital accessibility. This role involves performing tasks to ensure compliance with WCAG 2.0/2.1 and Section 508 standards. The coordinator will work closely with project coordinators, project managers, web developers, and clients to remediate documents and support ongoing accessibility projects.


  • Remediating digital documents, including PDFs, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel files, to meet WCAG and Section 508 standards.
  • Use accessibility checkers to identify and address accessibility issues under the direction of a Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Provide remediation support based on guidelines and best practices established by the SME and document owners.
  • Collaborate with project coordinators and web developers to implement accessibility improvements as directed.
  • Maintain and use ADA-compliant templates for Microsoft Office applications to support accessible content creation.
  • Stay up-to-date with evolving accessibility standards and best practices through ongoing training.
  • Participate in accessibility training sessions and initiatives to foster an inclusive and accessible culture.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance accessibility knowledge and skills and receive the Accessible Document Specialist (ADS) Certification.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors.


Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Information Technology, Communications, or a related field preferred — or equivalent professional experience.
  • Interest in learning and applying ADA digital accessibility practices for documents and web content.
  • Basic knowledge of WCAG 2.0/2.1, Section 508, and ADA standards, with a willingness to learn.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively work with team members and stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality assurance.
  • Interest in learning about content management systems such as WordPress or Drupal.
  • Desire to pursue certifications in accessibility, such as IAAP’s ADS Certification, as a future career development goal.
  • Open to learning and taking direction to contribute effectively to accessibility projects.
