Acquisition / Underwriting Associate

Overview

A well-capitalized real estate investment firm backed by a long-term family office is seeking an Acquisitions / Underwriting Associate to join its growing platform. The firm focuses on multifamily investments across high-growth U.S. markets, targeting value-add and core-plus opportunities. This is a high-impact, deal-oriented role with direct exposure to senior leadership and the full investment lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite multifamily acquisitions using detailed Excel cash flow models
• Analyze rent rolls, operating statements, and capex plans
• Evaluate returns (IRR, equity multiple, cash-on-cash) and run sensitivities
• Screen deals and prepare investment memos
• Support LOI negotiation, due diligence, and closing processes
• Conduct market research (rent comps, supply/demand, demographics)
• Assist with debt financing and lender coordination
• Partner with asset management on business plan execution

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in acquisitions, investment sales, REPE, or lending
• Strong Excel and financial modeling skills (ARGUS a plus)
• Multifamily underwriting experience preferred
• Solid understanding of real estate fundamentals and capital structures
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or similar
