Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Specialist to join their team in Richland Hills, TX. This is a hands-on accounting role that combines full-cycle Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, customer billing, collections, and general accounting responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have strong NetSuite experience, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to accurately code and process transactions while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

  • Manage the full-cycle AP process from invoice receipt through payment.
  • Review, code, and enter vendor invoices accurately into NetSuite.
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and supporting documentation.
  • Process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain organized AP records and documentation.

Accounts Receivable & Billing

  • Generate and distribute customer invoices accurately and on schedule.
  • Post customer payments and apply cash receipts.
  • Monitor customer accounts and investigate payment discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate AR aging reports.

Collections

  • Conduct collections activities on outstanding customer balances.
  • Follow up with customers regarding overdue invoices and payment commitments.
  • Work collaboratively with customers and internal departments to resolve billing issues.
  • Document collection efforts and maintain detailed account notes.

General Accounting

  • Perform account reconciliations and assist with month-end close activities.
  • Review transactions for proper coding and account classification.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with journal entries and other accounting functions as needed.
  • Support internal reporting requests and special projects.

Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years of accounting, accounting clerk, or accounting specialist experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience using NetSuite.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, sorting/filtering, and data analysis.
  • Experience with full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
  • Customer billing and collections experience.
  • General accounting knowledge with the ability to accurately code transactions.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred

  • Experience with QuickBooks.
  • Accounting experience within the trucking, transportation, logistics, or automotive dealership industries.
  • Experience supporting month-end close activities.
