Reasonover Talent Group is currently conducting a search on behalf of a well-established non-profit organization seeking to hire an Accounting Manager. This is an onsite role in Hollywood, FL.
The Accounting Manager will lead day-to-day accounting operations while reporting to the CFO and supporting 3 direct reports. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance execution with oversight—owning the close process, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting program leadership with budgeting and grant-related financials.
This position works closely with senior leadership and plays a key role in maintaining audit readiness, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and actively participate in the monthly close process to ensure timely, accurate and audit-ready financial statements
- Prepare financial reporting packages, including financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, schedules and variance reporting, in coordination with the CFO
- Own bank reconciliations, recurring and non-routine journal entries, payroll and share/indirect cost allocations, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Supervise and support a small accounting team of 3 direct reports, ensuring deadlines are met and issues are resolved proactively
- Maintain and improve close calendars, reporting schedules, and accounting processes
- Partner with internal stakeholders to support budgeting, grant reporting, and funding compliance
- Ensure adherence to GAAP and maintain strong internal controls
- Support audit preparation and assist during external and internal audits
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of month-end close
- 2+ years of supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, data analysis, linked workbooks)
Preferred Experience
- Experience within a nonprofit or grant-funded environment
- Exposure to grant compliance and reporting requirements
- Familiarity with document management systems and process optimization
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
