Senior Accounting Associate

I’m currently partnered with a well-known, growing Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) in Nassau County, NY that is looking to add an Associate to their team.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses
• Support the preparation of financial statements and SEC filings
• Collaborate closely with teams managing commercial mortgage loans and property operations to ensure accurate accounting and compliance
• Prepare audit schedules and liaise with external auditors
• Contribute to special projects that enhance reporting and support continued expansion of the mortgage lending portfolio

Experience:

• 1-2+ years of experience in public accounting (audit or accounting services), eager for a first move into private industry, ideally from the Big 4
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA or progress toward CPA highly valued
• Strong technical foundation in US GAAP and accounting principles
• Self-starter with a keen interest in commercial real estate and lending
• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills

Location:

This is a full-time onsite role based in Nassau County, NY (commutable from throughout Long Island).
