Role Description This is a full-time hybrid Accountant role based in Syosset, NY, with some flexibility to work from home. The Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations. Responsibilities include preparing journal entries, assisting with month-end and year-end close, and supporting the preparation of financial statements and management reports. The role will also involve maintaining accurate records, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and relevant accounting standards. The Accountant will collaborate with operations, sales, and leadership teams to provide financial data, support audits, and contribute to process improvements.
Qualifications
  • Strong financial accounting and reporting skills, including general ledger management, reconciliations, and month-end close.
  • Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoicing, collections, and vendor payments.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar), spreadsheets (Excel), and basic data analysis.
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and familiarity with internal controls, audit support, and compliance practices.
  • Effective organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a growing business.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across finance, operations, and commercial teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward certification is a plus.
  • Experience in manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, or a related industry is beneficial.
  • Comfort working in a hybrid environment in Syosset, NY, with the ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
