JOB TITLE:   

Account and Program Manager

JOB PURPOSE:   

The Account and Project Manager at Manufacturing Works will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with manufacturing clients primarily in their territory, and in some cases, across the state. They will work closely with the center's team to identify client needs, develop tailored solutions, and coordinate the delivery of services, ensuring successful project completion. The Account and Project Manager will also be responsible for expanding the center's client base by identifying leads and pursuing new opportunities. This role requires a strong understanding of the manufacturing industry, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.  

PLEASE NOTE: Moderate to extensive in-state travel required. Out-of-State Travel is typically three times each year. This position requires up to 50% travel throughout the State of Wyoming.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Develop and maintain meaningful professional relationships with coworkers, partners, and manufacturing clients.
  • Identify and assess client needs and develop tailored solutions to address them.
  • Coordinate the delivery of services to clients, ensuring high quality and timely delivery.
  • Expand the Center's client base by identifying new leads and pursuing opportunities.
  • Represent the Center at industry events and conferences.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments.
  • Achieve defined territory goals and center metrics.
  • Manage project impact survey process.
  • Utilize a CRM for documentation of client and project activity.
  • Report on special developments, information or feedback gathered through field activity.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in sales, business development, or account management, preferably related to private sector industry.
    • Minimum two years of leadership and program management experience.
    • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of business development gained from direct experience and/or formal training.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Other: Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) compliant with the Driving for University Business SAP

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Strong understanding of private sector industry processes and trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel within Wyoming.
  • Experience working with manufacturing clients in a consulting or advisory role.
  • Knowledge of NIST MEP programs and services.
  • Familiarity with Wyoming's manufacturing industry and economic development landscape.
  • Knowledge of implementation and use of quality management systems (ISO, AS, API, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or equivalent process improvement methods.
  • Experience working with multiple partners, stakeholders, and community leaders. 

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

WORK LOCATION: 

Preferred locations: Sheridan, Casper, Gillette, or close proximity. This position provides vital support to campus customers, and the successful candidate must be available to work and perform essential job functions at one of these locations, understanding our location is around 7,220 feet above sea level.
