Job Title: 3PL & Freight Sales Representative (Contract Logistics and Freight Solutions)

Role Overview

We are seeking motivated, results-driven 3PL & Freight Sales Representatives to join our growing sales team. In this role, you will focus on selling contract logistics (dedicated warehousing, fulfillment, and supply-chain management) and freight services (domestic and international transportation) to new and existing business clients. You will act as a trusted advisor, identifying supply-chain challenges and presenting tailored logistics solutions that drive efficiency, cost savings, and growth for our clients.

This is a hunter-style sales position ideal for someone with a proven track record in B2B sales within logistics, 3PL, freight brokerage, or related industries. You will build your own book of business through proactive prospecting while collaborating closely with operations and account management teams to ensure seamless delivery.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prospecting & Business Development: Conduct outbound cold calling, email campaigns, and networking to generate leads and build a robust pipeline of new clients in target industries (e-commerce, manufacturing, retail, distribution, etc.).
  • Client Needs Analysis: Research potential clients, qualify opportunities, and conduct discovery calls/meetings to deeply understand their supply-chain, warehousing, fulfillment, and freight requirements.
  • Solution Selling: Develop and present customized proposals for 3PL contract logistics (inventory management, picking/packing, e-commerce fulfillment) and freight solutions (FTL/LTL, final-mile, international air/ocean, cross-docking). Highlight strategic advantages like multi-location warehousing for rapid transit, real-time tracking, and value-added services.
  • Negotiation & Closing: Prepare quotes, negotiate service agreements/contracts, and close deals to meet or exceed monthly/quarterly revenue, shipment, and gross-profit targets.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain long-term client relationships; serve as the primary point of contact to ensure high satisfaction, identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities (e.g., adding international freight to existing 3PL clients), and drive repeat/referral business.
  • Collaboration & Execution: Work closely with operations, fulfillment, and carrier teams to hand off new accounts smoothly; resolve any service issues proactively.
  • Market Intelligence & Reporting: Stay current on logistics industry trends, competitor activity, and pricing; use CRM (e.g., Salesforce or similar) and TMS tools to track activity, pipeline, and KPIs (daily/weekly calls, proposals, shipments moved, revenue generated).
  • Performance Metrics: Achieve personal and team sales goals, including new business acquisition and portfolio growth.


Qualifications & Requirements

Required:

  • 1–3+ years of B2B sales experience in logistics, 3PL, freight brokerage, transportation, or supply-chain services (hunter mentality with proven new-business acquisition track record strongly preferred).
  • Strong understanding of 3PL services, freight modes (FTL/LTL, final-mile, international), warehousing/fulfillment, and supply-chain challenges.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and comfortable with high-volume outbound activity and commission-driven compensation.
  • Proficiency with CRM software, Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, and virtual meeting tools (Zoom, etc.).
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for client meetings as needed.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Existing book of business or industry contacts in e-commerce, manufacturing, or retail.
  • Experience with TMS/CRM systems and sales automation tools.
  • Knowledge of sustainable logistics practices or tech-enabled supply-chain solutions.
