2nd shift Maintenance Supervisor
AmeriQual Foods in Evansville, IN is seeking a professional, energetic 2nd shift Maintenance Supervisor. This position is responsible for leading and coordinating the 2nd Shift Maintenance team to support safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads and directs 2nd shift maintenance technicians to support production, utilities, and facility operations.
- Coordinates and prioritizes daily maintenance activities, including reactive, preventive, and corrective work.
- Ensures timely response to equipment issues to minimize downtime and support production goals.
- Partners with Production, Quality, and other departments to resolve equipment and process issues.
- Supports the execution of the site maintenance program, including preventive maintenance and work order management (CMMS).
- Enforces compliance with safety, GMP, and company policies and procedures.
- Provides hands-on troubleshooting support and utilizes root cause analysis to resolve recurring issues.
- Trains, coaches, and develops maintenance technicians; provides regular feedback on performance.
- Maintains shift communication, including pass-downs, work updates, and issue escalation to maintenance leadership.
- Monitors parts usage and works with appropriate teams to ensure availability of critical spare parts.
- Promotes a team-oriented culture focused on accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Assists in implementing process improvements and reliability initiatives as directed by maintenance leadership.
- Ensures proper documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in a technical field strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment with 2+ years’ experience in a lead or supervisory role
- Strong hands-on mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working in a regulated environment (food manufacturing preferred).
- Working knowledge of CMMS systems and preventive maintenance programs.
- Understanding of GMP, OSHA, and safety practices.
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Physical requirements
While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk, stand, and climb for prolonged periods of time; talk and hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to operate standard office equipment; and reach with hands and arms. Lift and carry up to 50 pounds, being able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery, and using specialized tools, equipment, and machines is required. Duties include intricate repairs, which will require working in confined spaces, on and around complex machinery and packaging systems, requiring a high level of manual dexterity. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The position will also frequent the production floor, so operating in standard seasonal warehouse and food processing plant temperature conditions will be required. Work is completed in a facility where nuts, fruits, and other allergens are present.
