Our client, a leader in the retail/tech space, is looking to bring on a 2D Studio Production Artist/Designer for a contract role, starting July 6th 1. Candidate must be onsite in Chicago 5x days/week


Location: Chicago (Onsite)

Pay Range: $40/hr.

Hours: 40/week

Duration: 5 weeks (could get extended)


*Main Responsibilities: Graphic design and print production for physical retail and events. No digital.

*Must Haves: Adobe Creative Suite. Must be proficient in print production and InDesign.


*Ideal Candidate:

  • - 2-3 years of experience
  • - Bachelors in Graphic Design
  • - Expert knowledge of InDesign and creative suite
  • - Take direction and critical feedback
  • - Strong attention to detail


Role and responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibilities: 2D / Graphic Design
  • Secondary responsibilities: 2D studio art, production


Follow Brand standards for:

  • - Check colors/ink setup
  • - Check color usage in objects and type
  • - Check overprints, knock-outs, or other trapping issues
  • - Spell Check, and check Preflight Panel
  • - Check images’ links, resolution, color mode, etc.
  • - Check layers
  • - Check font usage
  • - Double-check document trim size, bleed, slug area (if used for fold marks, etc.)
  • - Keep the mechanical clean
  • - Add file ID slug to the layout when possible
  • - Exporting final files
  • - Visual check of overall appearance, crops, fold marks, bleeds, etc.
  • - Preview and test color separations
  • - Determine if outlining of text is advisable
  • - Test and verify PDF/X-1a compliance


*Requirements

  • - Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field
  • - 3+ years of experience in 2D studio/production
  • - Experience in a production and delivery of production files
  • - Strong proficiency in 2D design software such as InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, familiarity with UX and UI would be a plus
  • - Incredible attention to detail, able to ensure the quality and accuracy of all materials
  • - Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects under pressure and to tight guidelines
  • - Ability to embrace change and quickly adapt in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude
  • - Handle multiple projects simultaneously within established timelines
  • - Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
