Position Overview


The Bench Jeweler is a hands-on, skilled craftsperson responsible for performing a wide range of jewelry repairs and restorations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a detail-oriented environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship.

The Bench Jeweler will work closely with the team to ensure timely, accurate, and beautiful results on both client-owned and in-store jewelry, while contributing to an exceptional overall customer experience.


Core Responsibilities

  • Identify repair needs on client and inventory jewelry pieces
  • Perform stone setting and stone replacement with precision
  • Execute simple to complex soldering and laser welding
  • Re-tip prongs and restore structural integrity of jewelry
  • Complete chain and clasp repairs
  • Perform ring sizing with accuracy and care
  • Clean, polish, and restore jewelry to like-new condition
  • Assist with intake of repair and custom design items, ensuring accurate documentation
  • Support store events and special projects as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support business operations


Key Performance Objectives

First 90 Days:

  • Become familiar with shop processes, tools, and workflow
  • Demonstrate proficiency in standard repairs (ring sizing, chain repair, polishing)
  • Maintain quality standards under supervision
  • Build strong working relationships with team members

First 180 Days:

  • Independently complete a wide range of repairs, including more complex work
  • Consistently meet turnaround time expectations
  • Maintain high standards of craftsmanship and attention to detail
  • Contribute to efficient repair workflow and organization

First 365 Days:

  • Serve as a reliable expert for both routine and complex repairs
  • Consistently deliver high-quality work with minimal rework
  • Support custom design and advanced repair projects as needed
  • Contribute to team efficiency and potentially assist in training newer staff
