The Sage Groups’ Client is seeking a YouTube Growth Strategist to support the Design & Manufacturing Product Marketing team. YouTube Growth Strategist is needed to accelerate growth of the Fusion YouTube channel. You’ll set up an audience-led content strategy, drive production with SMEs/creators and production partners, and optimize packaging and distribution to grow subscribers and influence trial/purchase.
You will own the end-to-end YouTube growth strategy for Fusion—from identifying audience demand and shaping the content roadmap to improving performance through strong titles/thumbnails, retention tactics, and distribution. This role partners closely with technical SMEs and cross-functional marketing stakeholders, but is expected to run with high autonomy and make clear decisions on what gets made and what ships.
What you’ll own:
- YouTube Search Growth: Identify audience demand using YouTube search insights, keyword/SEO trends, and competitive analysis; translate into a prioritized content roadmap; and drive briefs, publish cadence, and ongoing optimization.
- Product & GTM Growth Engine: Be the YouTube growth lead in roadmap and go-to-market conversations—bringing platform expertise and performance data to shape messaging and programs that drive acquisition and retention.
- New Series & Franchises: Refresh and expand our existing podcast into a flagship franchise, then build additional repeatable series that grow new audiences (e.g., interviews, workflow deep-dives, creator collabs, customer stories, short-form cutdowns).
Core responsibilities:
- Editorial strategy: Set the editorial plan (topics, series, and briefs) using audience insights, keyword research, and competitive analysis—balancing search demand, retention, and brand positioning.
- Packaging & retention optimization: Run a structured testing program for titles, thumbnails, hooks/intros, and graphics to improve CTR, watch time, and subscriber growth.
- Publishing cadence: Own the monthly content calendar and release plan, informed by seasonality, platform trends, performance learnings, and business priorities.
- Acquisition & retention impact: Partner with leads from Sales Readiness, Community, and Demand Gen to connect YouTube programming to meaningful actions (e.g., learn more, trial/sign-up, onboarding playlists, events) while staying channel-first.
- Measurement & insights: Pull YouTube and web data to surface what’s working, what’s not, and what we should do next; align stakeholders through clear readouts.
- Channel stewardship & quality bar: Define clear standards up front, build lightweight QA checkpoints throughout production, and make crisp go/no-go decisions on what gets published—delivering feedback with tact while protecting the channel’s credibility.
You are:
- High-agency with strong judgment: You take a goal, build the plan, and execute. You surface risks early, align partners quickly, and keep momentum without creating churn.
- YouTube growth craft: You stay current on platform changes and creator best practices, and you translate them into pragmatic tests that improve CTR, retention, views, and subscribers.
- Collaborative and influential: You navigate complex stakeholder environments and work effectively with on-camera creators, SMEs, and cross-functional partners (PMM, Product, Sales, Comms, Demand Gen).
- Audience-first: You’re motivated to understand designers, engineers, machinists, manufacturers, and makers—and use insights to improve what we publish and how we package it.
- Data-driven: You’re comfortable turning performance data into clear decisions and recommendations on what to do next.
Minimum qualifications:
• 5–7 years of experience owning YouTube channel strategy and growth for a brand, product, or established creator; experience in a large, cross-functional B2B SAAS organization.
• Proven track record growing subscribers and/or organic views through a repeatable strategy (search, series, packaging, and retention).
• Experience connecting YouTube programming to meaningful actions (e.g., learn more, trial/sign-up, education, event registration) while staying channel-first.
• Strong cross-functional and stakeholder management skills (internal and external), including collaboration with creative and production teams.
• Fluent in YouTube analytics and reporting; able to turn performance data into clear recommendations and stakeholder readouts.
Preferred qualifications:
• Experience marketing to technical audiences in Design & Manufacturing (CAD/CAM, machining, simulation, product design, manufacturing).
• Familiarity with adjacent tools and workflows; able to partner effectively with technical SMEs.
• Strong work samples (portfolio) that demonstrate channel-first storytelling and a high editorial quality bar (briefing, feedback, and go/no-go decisions).
